Sion’s passion for music eventually led her to pursue a career in London. In 2022, Sion Lee gained international recognition for her portrayal of “Mom” in the critically acclaimed Korean play <A First Class>, which was held at the Theatro Technis theater in London. Adaptedfrom Lee Nan-young’s novel, this black comedy critiques the relentless pressures placed on children and their parents in South Korea’s competitive educational system. A 90-minute show, Sion Lee’s performance was commanding and demanded both physical and emotional endurance. Her gripping portrayal of a mother pushed to the brink by her society’s obsession with academic success earned her rave reviews from critics who highlighted her ability to hold the stage with raw intensity and emotional depth.

In addition to her theatrical work, Sion Lee is also an accomplished singer with a growing presence in the music industry. She has showcased her vocal talents as a member of SomeVoices, one of London’s most prominent choirs, with notable performances at prestigious events such as the 2021 Royal Variety Performance and the 2021 Backyard Cinema Christmas Spectacular. Sion displayed her extraordinary vocal range and stage presence, garnering praise from both critics and audiences. And she worked with English Rockstar Sam Ryder and Kayla Settle, an actress and singer who showed great performances in the film <The Greatest Showman>. New Journey in Australia

Her career has not stopped in the UK, but she is also expanding in Australia. Sion’s international acclaim continued in 2024 with her performance as “Mei” in the original musical <Around the World in 80 Days>, produced by 24 Carrot productions, staged at the Richmond Theatrette in Melbourne, Australia. This vibrant production, loosely based on Jules Verne’s classic adventure novel, explores themes of colonialism, racism, and women’s rights through a diverse ensemble cast. Sion’s character, Mei, a Chinese businesswoman in Hong Kong, was integral to the narrative, delivering a poignant solo performance of “Look at Me.” The song, in which Mei confronts racist assumptions and critiques societal views on women’s rights, resonated deeply with audiences and critics alike. Sion’s powerful vocal performance was singled out as one of the highlights of the show, further cementing her reputation as a versatile and skilled performer.

Alongside her singing career, Sion is making waves as part of the acoustic duo ‘EnteRubSion’, formed with guitarist Ruben Monsalve. Her 2023 release, <Ocean>, is a departure from her stage work, revealing a different side to her artistry with a more intimate, personal collection of songs. Sion’s ability to blend classical vocal techniques with contemporary music is a testament to her versatility as an artist. Her latest song, <Close to You>, is the most streamed song, and her next release is also highly anticipated. and she is currently planning to release her first EP later this year.
