This talented trailblazer has been making waves with his unique sound, captivating stage presence, and unapologetic lyrics that speak to the hearts of his fans. We caught up with Yung Lord Fine$$ to talk about his rise to fame, his creative process, and what’s next for this talented artist. Get ready to go behind the scenes with one of the most exciting new voices in music!

What three things does anyone starting in your industry need to know?

First, one with intentions of pursuing the music industry would need to understand that talent alone won’t sustain you. In 2025, an artist needs to be an influencer, marketer, engineer, and director and fully educated in marketing, branding, distribution, and audience engagement. You’re not just creating music. You’re building a business and a brand from the ground up. Second, not everyone you meet has good intentions. The industry is filled with people who are driven by money, not your best interests. Be selective about who you trust and keep business and friendships separate. Third, you need to be fully self-reliant. Learn how to manage every detail of your releases, from writing and recording to syncing lyrics, designing visuals, and rolling out content across platforms. The more you control, the stronger and more sustainable your career will be.

What would you do differently if you were starting in your industry now?

I would have taken complete control of my production and release process much earlier. Early on, I trusted people who didn’t have the same level of care and attention to detail that I demanded in my work, which led to setbacks I could have avoided. If I had built my team and systems from the outset, I would have saved a lot of time, energy, and resources.

What has been your biggest success story? Why do you think it was a success?

Releasing my debut album, Every Lord Needs a Lady, was a significant milestone in my career. It took two years of personal growth, creative experimentation, and overcoming multiple setbacks, including

re-recording parts of the album after the first studio failed to deliver a professional product. It was a success because I stayed committed to quality and refused to settle for anything less than the final product I envisioned. That discipline and attention to detail continue to define my approach today.

What keeps you going when things get tough in the music industry?

I’ve always believed in turning pressure into art. The challenging moments fuel my creativity and push me to stay focused on the bigger picture. I also know that nobody cares more about my career than I do, so quitting or cutting corners has never been an option for me. The consistency and discipline I’ve built, both in music and in balancing my academic life, keep me grounded through the challenges.

What motivated you to pursue a career as a full-time artist?

Music has always been my creative outlet. Over time, it became clear that this wasn’t just a hobby; it was something I was fully committed to building. Even while balancing school, I continued to write, record, and manage every aspect of my career independently. The more I invested in it, the more I realized that this was a full-time passion that I wanted to grow into something long-term.

Would you sign to a label?

I’m open to label partnerships. However, any partnership should complement the infrastructure I’ve already built, not replace or control it. I’m not looking to sign for the sake of having a label attached to my name. It must make sense both strategically and creatively, as well as from a long-term business perspective. The foundation I’ve built is strong, and any deal would need to elevate what I’ve already established without compromising my vision, independence, or the direction of my brand.

What projects are you working on for the rest of 2025?

I’m continuing to build on the momentum from my previous releases. I have additional singles, music videos, and visual content scheduled for release throughout the remainder of 2025. I’m also expanding my catalog with a new project that incorporates elements of Afrobeats, club, and nightlife-inspired sounds while staying true to the energy and authenticity my audience expects. Every release will continue to be accompanied by entirely produced lyric videos, visualizers, and comprehensive rollout packages across all platforms.
