In the world of creativity, few partnerships are as special as a father-and-son collaboration. Bud Rebel, an accomplished filmmaker and entrepreneur, recently embarked on a musical journey with his son, Myles. Together, they crafted a song titled “Waiting,” a project that not only showcases their artistic synergy but also highlights the power of familial bonds in the creative process.
The Creative Process
The duo spent about a month bringing “Waiting” to life, collaborating closely with talented producer Adam Gloc at Speakeasy Studios. This partnership was pivotal, as Gloc’sexpertise helped transform their ideas and lyrics into a polished track. The process was a whirlwind of brainstorming, numerous studio sessions and creativity. When asked what the creative process entailed, Adam shared, “We started by programming drums. Once that was laid down, Myles tracked bass/lead guitar lines, after this, I recorded the chord progression on rhythm guitar and synth/piano parts. From there, we started flushing out the lyrics. A few weeks later, after we tracked Myles lead Vocals, Bruce (Bud) came in and added some parts to complete the song. Following this, I mixed the track with assistance from Dave Rico, then I proceeded to remix/master the track until we had the finished product.”
Bud Rebel, known for his work behind the camera, was excited to delve into the world of music. He describes the experience as a natural extension of his storytelling skills and adds, “I was working with extremely talented individuals who had to put my thoughts into a musical genre. They did an incredible job in “translation” and honestly, I learned a whole new language, throughout this experience. Sometimes the repetition can be exhaustive but hearing the final product makes it all worth it,” Bud says.
Myles Weinfeld is an accomplished musician hailing from Rockland County, New York, and who has toured extensively across the United States and Japan, captivating audiences with his dynamic performances at iconic venues such as Webster Hall, Agora Ballroom, and Whisky a Go Go. Having released four critically acclaimed records, Myles has made a significant mark on the music scene, with his compelling songwriting and engaging musical style have garnered impressive attention, with some of his songs amassing over 400,000 streams.
Myles found the collaboration with his father both rewardingand a new experience, his father adding “it was an eye-opening experience to see a whole different side to my son that was way above my pay rate (lol).” Bud joked.
The Heart of “Waiting“
“Waiting” embodies themes of perseverance and understanding, reflecting the journey both Bud and Myles have taken as individuals and as a family. The song’s lyrics, infused with heartfelt emotion, resonate with anyone who has faced challenges in life.
The track seamlessly blends elements of genres showcasing Myles’ musical influences while allowing Bud’s storytelling to shine through. The collaboration marks a significant milestone for both, with Myles stepping into the spotlight and Bud embracing a new artistic venture.
A Journey Worth Sharing

Bud and Myles hope that their song will resonate with listeners, encouraging them to embrace patience in their own lives. As they prepare for the release, excitement is palpable. The duo is eager to share their creation and connect with others through music.
“Releasing this song feels like sharing a piece of our story with the world,” Bud says. “We hope it inspires others to be patient with themselves and their journeys.”
