Behind the brand stands Darius, a musician whose journey spans three decades, multiple disciplines, cultures, and continents. His story is not one of sudden emergence, but of lifelong dedication, rediscovery, and the courage to finally share a body of work that has lived within him for years.
Born an Artist — Discovering the Calling
For Darius, music was never a casual hobby. It was an intrinsic part of his identity. “I didn’t become an artist — I was born as an artist,” he reflects. “My job was to discover it.”
That discovery began at the age of five in Poland during the era of communism — a time when access to instruments and artistic resources was limited. His father, himself a musician, dreamed of raising a guitarist inspired by legends like Carlos Santana. He bought young Darius a small guitar strung with unforgiving metal strings.
The instrument was harsh. The strings cut into his fingers. The experience was painful enough to discourage him for nearly a decade. But destiny, as it often does, returned. Ten years later, guided again by his father, Darius picked up the guitar once more — this time with resilience and maturity. He came back to music with full force, determined to master what once defeated him.
Discipline, Education, and Persistence
Darius’ artistic path was not simple or linear. It required unusual persistence. While cultivating his musicianship, he simultaneously pursued rigorous academic education in Poland. He studied at two high schools at the same time — one focused on Music, the other on Computers — balancing creative expression with technical precision.
Later, he completed a third master’s degree in Real Estate, demonstrating not only intellectual versatility but an extraordinary level of determination. Managing these parallel pursuits demanded discipline, sacrifice, and endurance — qualities that now define his artistic professionalism.
His musical foundation was built on classical and contemporary guitar studies in Poland, but that was only the beginning.
Fourteen Years in the UAE: A Global Musical Laboratory
Living in the United Arab Emirates for fourteen years became a transformative chapter. The UAE’s multicultural landscape provided Darius with exposure to musicians and traditions from across the globe.
During this period, he collaborated with artists from diverse backgrounds and performed across an impressive spectrum of genres, including:
- Rock
- Pop
- Club music
- Latin
- Arabic
- Bollywood
- Greek
- Russian
- Italian
Rather than simply performing these styles, Darius immersed himself in their roots. He became fascinated not only with how the music sounded, but where it came from — the cultural DNA behind each rhythm, scale, and instrument.
It was during this time that his identity began to crystallize into what would later become Ethno Set.
A Collector of Sound and Tradition
Darius’ passion for traditional music is not abstract — it is tangible. He owns a collection of 21 instruments, many of them deeply connected to cultural heritage and traditional performance practices.
Beyond mastering various types of guitars, he learned to play five additional instruments while living in the UAE. Each instrument added new tonal colors and perspectives to his musical vocabulary.
His fascination lies particularly in “living traditional instruments” — instruments that carry history within their wood, strings, and breath. For him, music is not just entertainment; it is continuity. It is a conversation between generations.
The Rebirth: Ethno Set (Launched July 2025)
Although Darius has been composing for many years, he chose not to publish his music until July 2025. That moment marked a conscious renewal — a decision to reawaken his creative journey publicly under the banner of Ethno Set.
Ethno Set is not confined to a single genre. It is intentionally open — a wide book still being written. It fuses:
- Ethnic and traditional textures
- Modern production aesthetics
- Cross-cultural instrumentation
- Emotional storytelling
- Sonic exploration without boundaries
The project represents freedom. Freedom from categorization. Freedom from commercial limitations. Freedom to explore sound as a universal language.

Collaboration Beyond Borders
In addition to building Ethno Set, Darius also supports Italian electronic vocalist Sarah R Jay. This collaboration introduces him to an entirely different sonic universe — one centered around electronic production and contemporary vocal aesthetics.
While Ethno Set leans into organic instrumentation and traditional influences, working alongside Sarah R Jay expands his exposure to digital soundscapes and modern electronic frameworks. The contrast between these two creative spaces only strengthens his artistic flexibility.
A Philosophy of Sound
