San Diego’s Rising Artist Turns His Life Into Music

San Diego, California – Independent artist Swan Paradise is carving his own lane in today’s music landscape with his latest release, OTTO, an EP that blurs the line between personal storytelling and sonic innovation. Released on August 11, 2025, the project is the second installment in a trilogy of EPs that collectively represent Swan’s life experiences, creative vision, and relentless passion for music.

“OTTO is short for autobiography,” Swan explains. “I put my entire mind, body, and soul into these songs. Every word reflects what I was experiencing in real time—it’s my story told directly, with no filter.”

What began as one large body of work evolved into three separate releases after a conversation with his friend Kaidan. Swan realized that by splitting the music into multiple projects, each song could be appreciated fully without overshadowing the others. The result is a more intentional rollout—giving listeners a chance to digest his artistry in chapters, rather than all at once.

A One-Man Creative Force

Unlike many artists who rely on teams of writers, producers, and engineers, Swan Paradise is a true DIY powerhouse. Every sound, lyric, and arrangement is entirely his own creation.

“I produce it, write it, engineer it, perform it, arrange it—you name it,” Swan says. “I do it all myself because the process of making music is what brings me the most joy. If I wasn’t doing this, I’d be very unhappy with my life.”

That hands-on approach is evident in OTTO. Each track feels organic and deeply connected to its creator, carrying Swan’s fingerprints in every beat, melody, and lyric. His authenticity shines through, offering fans not just music, but an intimate look into his journey as an artist and individual.

Sound and Influence

Musically, OTTO draws comparisons to genre-blurring artists like Kevin Abstract and Dijon, blending alternative textures with soulful honesty. Swan’s voice cuts through with a sense of urgency, while his production keeps the listener engaged with fresh, dynamic soundscapes.

When it comes to dream collaborations, Swan’s ambitions reflect his forward-thinking artistry. He cites Tyler, The Creator and Yeat as two artists he’d love to work with—visionaries who, like him, challenge traditional boundaries in music.

What’s Next for Swan Paradise

While OTTO marks a significant milestone, Swan isn’t slowing down. He’s already preparing the release of the final EP in the trilogy, Follow the Sun, set to drop this Sunday. For Swan, consistency is key:

“I’m going to be releasing very consistently for a very long time. Right now, I need to get all of my demo projects out of my system before I can vividly create something new and monumental. New and refreshing. New and fun.”

This commitment to growth and exploration is exactly what sets Swan apart. He’s not just making music—he’s building a creative legacy, piece by piece, chapter by chapter.
