Las Vegas is a city built on spectacle, but for British singer-songwriter Ollie Wride, a recent appearance at The Venetian wasn’t just another show, it was a coronation.

Invited personally by pop icon Boy George to join Culture Club during their spring residency, the vibrant frontman delivered a kinetic duet of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” that instantly electrified the room. A clip of the performance quickly went viral on Instagram, generating massive engagement and underscoring a powerful narrative: a symbolic passing of the baton from the architect of the New Romantic movement to a modern torchbearer of glamorous, alternative pop.

The Las Vegas milestone served as the glittering centerpiece of the brief but highly impactful “3 Stops & Vegas Tour” this past March. It was a victory lap that confirmed what industry insiders and tastemakers including Virgin Radio’s Eddie Temple Morris have been echoing: the future of stadium-sized rock and roll is securely in Ollie Wride’s hands.

Following the residency spotlight, the singer shifted focus to a fiercely dedicated fanbase, bringing an electrifying live show to the West Coast for a pair of high-profile headline gigs. In San Francisco, he commanded the stage before moving south to Los Angeles, playing to a completely sold-out crowd at the historic venue, The Mint.

It was within the intimate confines of The Mint that the acclaimed vocalist offered a glimpse of his next creative chapter. Fans were treated to the live debut of “Lostman” and “Giving up the Ghost,” two tracks slated for an upcoming third studio album. The new material leans heavily into character-driven songwriting, projecting a sound that critics have already dubbed “euphoric optimism.”

The momentum of the West Coast run wasn’t confined to the stage. While in Los Angeles, the British artist sat down with legendary broadcaster Matt Pinfield on The SoCal Sound (88.5 FM) for an in-depth interview and an exclusive three-song acoustic performance. This latest media triumph adds to a robust broadcasting resumé that already boasts heavy support from BBC Radio One and BBC Introducing.

For the rising solo star, this current surge is the culmination of years spent meticulously crafting a signature sound. With over 150 million plays on Spotify and a monthly listenership north of 340,000, his commercial viability is undeniable. The dynamic performer initially captured global attention as the voice and co-writer for the acclaimed synth-pop outfit FM-84, responsible for genre-defining anthems like the 20-million-streamed “Running In The Night.”

The transition to a solo career proved equally explosive. His debut record, Thanks In Advance, dominated international charts, securing two Top 40 Billboard Album placements and hitting No. 1 on iTunes Electronic Charts in ten different countries. The sophomore effort, The Pressure Point which was released via M3 Recordings in partnership with Sony and The Orchard, cemented the songwriter’s solo staying power, landing tracks on Spotify’s New Music Friday and John Mayer’s Fresh Finds, while racking up sync placements across Netflix (Coin Heist), HBO (Titans), and Channel 4.

Now, backed by high-profile endorsements from SE Electronics and ACS Custom, and armed with a formidable catalog of collaborative writing credits (spanning from Arcades to Meat Loaf), Ollie Wride is back in the studio.

As anticipation mounts for a third LP, the industry is paying close attention. If the sold-out crowds and legendary co-signs are any indication, the pop innovator isn’t just preparing to release a new record; as USA Today predicts, he is preparing to deliver the sound of the summer.
