Music Times UK Exclusive Interview
Tony DeYoung, the talented rapper and entrepreneur, has been making waves in the music industry with his unique style and unapologetic lyrics. But behind the scenes, Tony has been dealing with a lifetime of pain and trauma. In this exclusive interview with Music Times UK, Tony opens up about his difficult childhood, his strained relationships with his parents, and the challenges of dealing with newfound fame.
_Music Times UK: Tony, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us about your childhood and how it has influenced your music?_
Tony DeYoung: Growing up was tough. My mom struggled with alcohol abuse, and my dad was never in the picture. I had to rely on my brother and myself to get by. It was a horrible childhood, but it’s made me the person I am today.
_Music Times UK: You’ve spoken publicly about your mom’s alcohol abuse and how it has affected your relationship with her. Can you tell us more about that?_
Tony DeYoung: Yeah, it’s been tough. My mom still struggles with alcohol abuse, and it’s hard for me to deal with. I’ve tried to reach out to her and get her help, but she’s not willing to take responsibility for her actions. It’s like she’s in denial about the pain she’s caused me and my brother.
_Music Times UK: Your dad has also been absent from your life. Can you tell us about your relationship with him?_
Tony DeYoung: My dad was never in the picture. He never paid child support, never helped with anything. But now that I’m on national television, he’s suddenly interested in getting in touch. He contacted me and wanted to meet up and tell me how proud he is of me. But it’s too little, too late. I don’t need his validation now.
_Music Times UK: You’ve also spoken about how your newfound fame has brought out some unexpected relatives. Can you tell us more about that?_
Tony DeYoung: Yeah, it’s been crazy. I’ve got cousins from my dad’s side who are suddenly interested in getting in touch with me. But it’s not because they care about me or my well-being. It’s because they want something from me. They’re asking me for money because they’re having a hard time. But I’ve never even met these people before. They never bothered to reach out to me or congratulate me on my success. They only care about what they can get from me.
_Music Times UK: Finally, how do you deal with the challenges of fame and the pressure to constantly produce new content?_
Tony DeYoung: It’s tough, but I’m managing. I’ve got a great team behind me, and I’m focused on creating music that’s true to myself. I’m not worried about what others think or what they want from me. I’m just focused on making music that inspires and uplifts others.
